Do I have to be a military spouse to become a Milspo Project member?

In short, yes. Our motto is "once a military spouse, always a military spouse." Which means if you're veteran married to someone in the military (military spouse), welcome. If you're a military spouse married to someone who is no longer active duty, welcome. If you're a new military spouse, welcome. If you have been a military spouse for sometime, welcome. We're a military spouse entrepreneur club, so if you are military spouse, you're one of us.

Do I have to be a business owner to join?

Yes. To become a MP Member you must be an established business through the IRS.  All member applicants are asked to provide their EIN number for verification. If you would like to learn more about becoming a verified business, join our mailing list to stay tuned for Milspo Project's Blueprint, the complete online course for starting a business as a military spouse, launching April 2018, or check out IRS.gov to learn more.

What is the financial investment to become member?

We have two types of membership. Members who pay $97 in annual dues, have access to the full suite of our membership perks. Dues are collected annually, but can also be broken down into $15 monthly installments upon request. How to I qualify to take MIlspo Project's Accredited business classes via UNCW?

To qualify for Milspo Project's UNCW-accredited business courses, you must be a Milspo Project member. Please keep in mind that all college-credit classes are an additional cost outside of membership dues, and payments are processed through the university directly. All course are MyCAA-approved.

I want to join, but I am not a business owner. How can a stay involved?

We would love to have you a member, but we do require that you are a business owner to join. If you are thinking Milspo Project might be right for you, and would like to receive Milspo Project workbooks and goal sheets to your inbox each month, you may do so with an annual $27 investment. 

How do I start a business?

While there are many ways to get started, to be a legal business you must be registered with the IRS. Join our mailing list to stay up-to-date on the launch of Milspo Project's Blueprint, the complete online course for starting a business as a military spouse, launching April 2018.

How do I parter with your on a project or event?

We are so grateful for our corporate partners, sponsors, monthly and annual donors and volunteers. There are many ways you can get involved. Our Give Back page outlines just a few. Who are Milspo Project members?

We are women like you, young, old and in-between. We are moms, makers, wives, creatives, retailers, coaches, service providers, artists, go-getters, and doers. We believe we can harness what military life as taught us about patience and perseverance, and leverage it into successful businesses. We have grit. Most importantly we believe military life is a gift, because it is getting us closer to the women we are meant to become.

Are there any leadership opportunities as a member?

Yes! After becoming a Milspo Project member, you have the opportunity to apply to become a MP Ambassador. As an ambassador, you are able to host quarterly Gatherings as a Milspo Project representative, and fill a number of other volunteer roles for our organization. Ambassadors sign up to take an online course on the Who, What, and Why of Milspo Project, where you will learn more about our origin story, our 7-year plan, and our mission, vision, and values. The course can be taken at your own pace over two weeks.

Are there any other resources for those who aren't quite ready to be a member?

How does Milspo Project use membership dues?

Milspo Project is a verified 501(c)-3 non-profit organization. We invest membership dues into all Milspo Project's member programs and resources. Check our our Praise + Progress report to learn more about our commitment to financial transparency. 

Can I sell my [Fill in the blank] to Your members?

Milspo Project, in particular our private membership group, is a place for any military spouse running a business to gain support, ask questions, get feedback and discuss issues they may be facing in their business and military life.

In general if it concerns entrepreneurship or business topics you can talk about it in our member area. You are welcome to your social pages, blogs, and websites, etc for feedback, but direct promos are prohibited. Anyone who only posts self-promotional stuff may be asked to leave without warning.

We value creating a harmonious online-member space, where people genuinely feel safe to share without fear of reprisal or being spammed.

Are there any opportunities to showcase my business as a member?

Absolutely! Once you become a member, you have the opportunity to submit your application for Spouse Stories. You are also featured in your MP Welcome Video you post to our online Mastermind group. There are also other opportunities to be featured on our site, blog, and at events throughout the year.
