Why did you choose entrepreneurship? I worked in the television advertising industry for almost a decade, representing broadcast and cable networks and digital platforms. I became very passionate about entrepreneurship during my MBA courses at Regent University and decided to launch my own advertising agency so that I could really help business owners from a wider scale, not just television. I also wanted to form a business that actually made a difference in people's helping owners with their advertising, I get to see their excitement and revenue grow!

Why do military spouses make great entrepreneurs? Military spouses have to adapt, which is a key obstacle for many business owners. You have to be able to uproot your family and business at a moment's notice and not let it negatively affect your emotions. Military spouses are hard-workers and know how to multi-task, both being very important aspects of operating your own business.

What is a "blocker" for you in business. What holds you back? Traveling from market to market each week can be cumbersome because it's hard to get into a routine. I have really tried to focus on a healthy lifestyle, even when traveling...which is so difficult.

How has being a military spouse changed your for the better? I had 8 weeks to shift my business structure from what would have been a brick and mortar to one that is more transient and able to operate, no matter where I am in the world. At first, this was a huge source of stress for me, but after I learned how to "go with the flow," I was able to embrace it and it became very be able to work wherever I was!

What strengths do you possess, that you did not know you had, until you became an entrepreneur? Problem-solving. As a business owner, I am not able to call an IT department when my computer malfunctions, which happens when you are working in various software and programs. I have to dive in and figure things out and this has strengthened my ability to lessen panic when complications arise.

What would you tell a military spouse entrepreneur who is feeling discouraged? Ask for help. We all need help. It's such a huge internal challenge for some people because they feel it makes them seem inexperienced or incompetent. When you ask for help, you'll find people actually want to help you! Don't forget to return the favor though.

What are your five favorite things that you can not live without as a military spouse entrepreneur? My planner. I still hand-write my meetings in! Don't worry, I also put them in Outlook...but I love being able to write them down.

I have to have my phone- I wouldn't be able to work without it.

My eye mask for sleeping- blocks out all the light!

My Bose noise-cancelling headphones. Oh I can't even begin to tell you how I live in these things. Coffee shops, airplanes, sleeping- sometimes you have to tune everything out to concentrate!

Goals- this seems silly but you have to write them out and look at them everyday. I have mine hanging in my office.

What is the most amazing thing you have experienced in your business thus far? Support system. You are who you surround yourself with. I like to absorb the energy from successful people and find it to be incredibly motivating. When you launch your business, you'll see who your friends are and although it may be'll find new people who will want to see you succeed.

How do you want to be remembered? I suppose it doesn't really matter how I'm remembered, as long as someone remembers me!
