What holds me back in business is questioning if others really understand the vision. I strongly believe that life is about helping others and being of service to others. Sadly, our world does not always share the same mentality and others feel you are trying to get something from them. It is sad when you have to assure someone that you truly want to help them and have their best interest at heart.

ABC's Shark Tank | Interview with R. Riveter founders Lisa Bradley and Cameron Cruse Part 2 | The Milspo Project
The company is only as good as the individual members. As we are building this network, I am mindful that I only want to bring in people that are positive and that I want to be around. I want people that as they're walking down Broad St. with their R. Riveter bag on their shoulder, they are going to give the community a very positive impression. Keeping that company culture is what will take us from small to big while maintaining a happy and positive place to work.
ABC's Shark Tank | Interview with R. Riveter - American Handmade Founders Lisa Bradley and Cameron Cruse | A Resource for Military Spouse Entrepreneurs
At The Milspo Project, we truly believe we have the BEST team and members within our community. Our suspicions of this were confirmed when we were lucky enough to bring Seanna Asper onto our Board of Directors!
Seanna comes from a family of entrepreneurs, so it was a natural choice when she decided to open her own business, Asper Accounting. Seanna’s passion is working with small business owners because she believes that small businesses are the heartbeat of America.
Prior to venturing out on her own, Seanna gained experience in public accounting and also spent some time helping run her family’s utility construction company. She even holds contractor’s licenses in a couple of states.
Seanna was honored as a university valedictorian upon earning her bachelor’s in accounting and received a fellowship to complete her master’s in accounting, both from North Carolina State University.
When she isn’t focused on helping grow businesses, Seanna loves to spend her time outdoors with her husband and dog. She jokes that she and her husband’s hobby is having hobbies. They love hiking, camping, paddle boarding, sailing and so much more. However, if the weather is bad you’ll find Seanna with a good cup of coffee enjoying great conversation with friends and family.
To me, having control of my time, my goals, and my destiny is very important. I have enjoyed working for companies in the past and have had wonderful experiences but I figured that if I was willing to work that hard for someone else, I would be even more motivated to work for myself to fulfill my dreams. Military life can mean that plans can change in an instant, so having flexibility is key. Entrepreneurship seemed like the answer to my lifestyle needs.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs and have been working in my family's businesses since I was in middle school. I have always had a mindset for business and enjoy being able to have my hands in multiple aspects of a business. However, I never really considered entrepreneurship with my accounting degree until my husband decided to join the military. When he first joined I panicked for a while about my career. I turned down my great job offer after grad school to embark on this wild journey and at first that was a really big blow. Once I got settled into our first base I eventually got a job with a local accounting firm, but after six months there I was tired of being pigeonholed. I wasn't learning or growing as a professional and I knew I wanted to do more as a professional. Selfishly I also wanted the flexibility to set my own schedule so that I could spend time with my husband on his random days off and take my work with me to travel and see family.
By following her entrepreneurial spirit, Ashley gained fulfillment and flexibility conducive to the transient military lifestyle. She is the founder of Wellevance, a social venture connecting people, community, and products to inspire others to live a balanced lifestyle and create positive change in the world. Ashley graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Central Florida and in 2007 with an
M.B.A. from Saint Leo University. She was selected as 1 of 24 social entrepreneurs from around the world to attend Global Social Impact House 2016. The 7-day residential program provided an opportunity to explore advanced concepts in business models, design thinking and leadership, while building meaningful, global connections.
Ashley is delighted to join The Milspo Project team to help educate and support fellow Military Spouse Entrepreneurs.
